How to simultaniously have top time in Western Australia while being the Rotary President in Gosford
Dec 15, 2016
President Dennis will present a description, with pictures, of his trip with Jenni to Western Australia. In a classic display of delegation at its finest, Dennis was inaugurated in July and left the next day. This gave our club the perfect opportunity to make plans and organise ourselves........without any responsibility. It is hoped this splendid example of leadership will inspire all members to do it like Dennis. Wives, partners, family all welcome. |

Sharon and Dominique will tell how ADRA, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, manages a volunteer group to provide shelter and food for girls at great risk in Thailand. Unlike our country the risks are so much greater and yet the cost of food and shelter is on $200 pa. Come along and hear their remarkable story. As always, visitors very welcome. |

Hidden Figures
Feb 09, 2017
We support Erina Rotary at its fund raising movie premiere of Hidden Figures. The movie traces 3 African American women whose mathematical capabilities were critical in NASA's race against Russia to be the first to put a man in space. Proceeds go to the School of St Jude, Mahbaba's Promise and the Midwives of East Timor, all worthwhile rotary projects.

The Midwives of East Timor Rotary Project
Feb 16, 2017
Much is said about health care in this country but at its most basic level maybe health care begins with childbirth. We take for granted hospital, doctors or midwives being available through this vulnerable time but it isn't like that in East Timor. Come along and hear how Erina Rotary managed to improve the lot of young mums in one of our closest neighbours. As always, visitors welcome. |

The Forgotten Flotilla
Apr 06, 2017
In the course of an archeological dig in Crete Dr Michael seems to have uncovered a series of wrecked WW2 vessels. Unlike most war records these vessels, used for transporting and landing tanks, do not appear to have been well recorded despite their wrecked remains being in prominent positions throughout the Eastern Mediteranean. Visitors are very welcome to join us to hear about Michael's remarkable discovery. |

Entertainment for the young
Apr 19, 2017
Razzamatazz is a major fundraising event for Gosford Rotary. We seek sponsors for this event which provides a great afternoon/evening entertainment. Admission is free to children through generous sponsorship and tickets are largely distributed to families who would not normally afford such an event. We have managed this event for many years now with distribution of funds raised going to responsible charities such as Lifeline, the Shirley Shuttle, Coast Shelter and support for victims of domestic violence. Sponsors are widespread across the coast and so we only contribute to charities which also help coastwide. Sponsors are invited to attend to see the event for themselves and we encourage recipients of their generosity to send them a personal "thank you".

Droughts and Flooding Rain
May 18, 2017
Richard Whitaker is a renouned meteorologist, held in high esteem both for his technical expertise and for his gift of presentation. After many years in the Bureau of Meteorology and many years of presenting the weather on TV it is fortunate for the Central Coast that he has made it home. In a very topical subject Dick will speak on Droughts and Flooding Rain, something which has always been a part of Australia's climate.....or has it? Come along and hear the real answer from the guy who knows. Visitors always very welcome. |
