Science and Engineering Challenge 2025 celebrated it's 25th anniversary this year.       Back in 2000 the University of  Newcastle noticed it's enrolments in Engineering were falling and it decided to do something about it.
In an effort to encourage more Maths and Physics participation in years 11 and 12 it designed a series of engineering construction challenges that were fun for year 10 students.
The Rotary Club of Gosford ran the very first one, quickly followed by Newcastle and the Hunter region.         Today it is a nation wide event with nearly 30,000 students participating every year.
Truly and wonderful achievement by the University and now drawing on rotary clubs all over Australia
